The Aftermath: Celebrating Single-blessedness Part 2

Boring -- that pretty much sums up my Feb 14. It was really boring not because I had no date. I wanted to go out that night because for one reason, it was payday! HAHA I guess laziness got the best of me and I heard that the roads were highly congested. Like any other single guy who's just not feeling the V-vibe, I stayed indoor and slept early -- indeed the best decision I've made in my entire life.

The next two days were totally a 360 degree turn. My high school buddies and I planned to eat at ICE GIANTS. It's a new shop which primarily sells cold desserts. Since it's new, many people are dying to try the goodies they are offering. Luckily, my friends and I decided to meet there by 6 o'clock so we were able to find a table for us. People started coming in as the night went on. Many people waited outside while we stayed and waited for our other friends to come.

Here are some of the mouth-watering stuff we order:

Beautiful. Delicious. Insert other positive adjective here.

Choco Chip Sundae

Mango Giant

Oreo Sundae

Black Forest Parfait
These were just the first round of food we ordered. The others came in after the other. That pretty much would describe their service. Read between the lines. Oh, for prices… sorry! I wasn’t able to document their pricelist and menu. But if you’d plan to go there the desserts would cost around P88 and up. Despite the not-so-good-first-time experience I had there, I’d definitely would be back for more. Maybe when the frenzy has died down.  I just can’t get enough of sweets.
Ice Giants is located at The Strip, near the Capitol. Go and pay them a visit!

Lots of Love: Celebrating Single-blessedness

"Thank God the Love Month has gone!" This would probably be the line of the loveless and bitter. (Yup! I'm loveless but bitter... hmmm...not really ;D)
Honestly, I'm quite happy February is over not because I'm bitterly single but because all the hype Valentine's Day gets is way over my nerves can tolerate. My ears bled every time someone made a big fuss about not having a date last February 14th. How lonely can you guys get? In my case, I showed a whole lot of love to the people who've made a great impact in my life. I've got pretty much to tell about my February so get your eyes and hands ready 'coz you'll be reading and scrolling down this blog. You ready?

 February 2 --- Reunited @ the Port

I went on a trip to memory lane with the girls who I've mostly been with during my Grade School days. We had dinner at The Port Restaurant.  For my 22nd birthday, I wanted to treat some of my friends but I am but a poor boy; I can't feed all my friends. I came up with a good idea to gather my elementary buddies for dinner (my treat of course! *wink*) because it has been a long time since we went out. I was pretty happy that the two of the most difficult people to contact was able to come that night.

Hello, photobombers! :D

Hello, Medics!
That's Tashi in Yellow.
She used to be the person I share my darkest secrets with
not until she studied in a different school.
Looking good, KarenFaye and Vanessa!

Kristine, Me, Carmelle, & Alonica
Grade school and High School buddies

Thanks guys! : *

It has been a very long time, Vanessa! <3

I took this shot and I love it. Insert Tashi here.
It was a great night, indeed. Carmelle, Alonica, and I still don't have our own wheels yet, so when we went to Paseo Arcenas and stopped by Coffee Dream, each of us had our own personal and beautiful drivers! :D

Talking about the Port, it has a cozy ambiance which was quite smaller that what I expected but nonetheless, I had a wonderful time. The service crew were accommodating. What I didn't like though was our location. We were sitting near the entrance but I know I should be grateful because we were able to reserve a table. The food was also great but honestly, I'm the type of person who most of the times finds any food delicious. If you're interested to dine in Cebu's best buffet restaurant, check their website: http://port.ph/

To top it all off, I was able to get my money's worth! There will definitely be a next time.

Keeping Track

It's almost a month since the last time I posted something and YES! I'm trying to keep my promise of blogging more often (laughs).

In my last post, I listed some of the things I wanted to do this year. Here's three of what I have accomplished:

1.) Buy a gift for a loved one.

Since I started working, I really wanted to buy my father a smartphone. I know it far from how much he has given me since childhood but it's always the thought that counts, isn't it?

2.) Join a Yoga sesh

Love Yoga World is located in the 11th floor of SkyRise 2 Building, I.T. Park. I've always wanted to try Yoga. They had a promo for first time LYW enrollees. I got to pay 1500 for an unlimited non-hot yoga from February 2 to March 2. It was a great deal for budding Yogis but I ruined my plans. I supposedly get off from work at 3 giving me ample time to go to LYW and join the sessions from 3pm onwards. BUT stupid me. I listed myself to work overtime for the whole month. Can someone kill me now? I've totally wasted my money. -___________-

Enough about my disappointing decisions. Let me talk about LYW. The ambiance was great. It gave me a relaxing feel. Plus, the people were pretty accommodating. I joined the Yoga for Beginners with teacher Kathy.  I honestly thought Yoga was an easy thing to do but boy it was exactly the opposite. No one should dare look down on Yoga practitioners. It might not involved weights but it sure is hard to flex one's joints and muscles.

After an hour, we had a photo op.
All smiles after an hour of Yoga. Namaste!

3.) Save money.

TBH, I am an impulsive buyer. Every payday, I can't wait to hit the mall or thrift shops to buy some stuff. But this time. I budgeted my money and saved some of them in my People's Cooperative account. It's wise of me to save up for the rainy days.

Inevitable First Month Promises

What's in store for me this year? No, wait. Let me rephrase the question. What am I storing up this year and for the years to come?

Humans have unlimited desires. If you haven't realized that by now, I doubt if you're indeed a human. We will always want another thing after another. We make a list of things to buy and dreams to achieve but unfortunately the list goes on. Given such long lists of created (sometimes unrealistic) needs, we end up sulking in disappointments.

This year, I have made a bucket list of things I want to accomplish. Even if the possibility of getting disappointed is directly proportional to  the chances of achieving them, I DON'T MIND and I DON'T CARE. I have been dealing with disappointments and frustrations for my entire life. It wouldn't hurt me to deal with some more this year. As Kelly (or her songwriters) says, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. I might be acting a little brave here but I expect there will be instances that I'd be at the brink of giving up. However, those won't stop me from reaching my goals. What is a man if he doesn't have dreams?

Here are the random things I thought of doing this year:

> buy a gift for a loved one (or loved ones, it depends)
> join a Yoga session or a dance-slash-fitness-class
> learn how to cook and bake something...EDIBLE
> travel and see the world
> enrol for postgraduate studies
> Watch UNIGAMES live in Dumaguete
> start a family tradition (e.g. Fruit Smoothie Sundays)
> learn a foreign language (I'm thinking Japanese)
> learn how to play a musical instrument
> save money (in the bank, not in your piggy bank)
> lose the belly (this has been on the list since the time I started eating)
> blog more often
> buy a furrbaby already!

For updates or anything, I will get back to you soon. Pinky swear!

Super Dormant

Where was I during the months of August to December? I published none since last July. I'd be behind bars for breaking the blog constitution (luckily, there ain't such thing.) TBH, there were a lot of blog-worthy events those past months. I was plainly lazy to do so. My apologies.

Well, what a year it has been. 2013 surely wouldn't be forgotten, but I believe 2014 would also be memorable. I'm definitely bracing myself (Yes, I embrace myself most of the times because I have no one else to hug. Oops! That was uncalled for.) for anything that's in store for me this year.

I'd like to keep this just-to-have-an-entry post short. I'd like to end with this picture I captured when I went to the South Reclamation Project grounds. Let me know what you think about the picture and the quote.

Right on.

Till next time,

I got balls

I am just leaping right now. Finally, I have bought myself my own Mikasa Spiral Volleyball. This may not be a big deal for most people but for someone like me who eats and breathes volleyball, IT IS A BIG DEAL.

The actual plan was to buy two MVA310 because the price posted on Chris Sports' website was around 1900. But when we went to the mall, it was over 2000. So I had to buy only one. You might be asking why I planned to buy two volleyballs. TBH, I wanted to have more balls for our CAS Volleyball Men's Team so that we can really have quality practice time. Nonetheless, having one is more than enough. Maybe, just maybe, come this August if Toby's Sports or Chris Sports would be having a sale, I could add one more ball to my collection.

Weeeeeee! I am just very happy right now. Next thing I'd like to buy a pair of Mizuno shoes. Payday, come the soonest time possible!

Will show you a picture of the ball.

Till next time Blogspot,

P.S.

Yes. I am at the office right now. My student is absent which gave me ample time to blog. (wink!)

Testing New Waters

Yea, I know. I'm guilty of being such a lazy a**. I just had to succumb to the idea of not blogging after a gazillion year, but here I am right now. I actually am at the office right now. Luckily, my student isn't here yet. NEWSFLASH! Yes, you've read it right. I actually have a new job right now. I am teaching. Who would have thought I'd ending up teaching?

Well, it isn't the typical school-slash-university-way of teaching. I am an English as Secondary Language (ESL) teacher catering to Japanese, Koreans, Taiwanese, Iranians, and Russians. I find this job interesting but a part of me also want to venture into university teaching because I believe it would also be good to educate my fellow Filipinos. Hopefully, I could get a Master's Degree or a Diploma in Professional Education. I honestly am still undecided which to take and in what school (This would have to be written in another blog.  I promise to write about it soon).

Going back to the topic. Yea. It's just been a month and a week since I started here. The compensation package is less compared to my previous job, but I feel more satisfied here. The nature of the job is manageable plus the respect I get from my students is just priceless.

Friends discouraged me from continuing here but I decided to give this a try because I really feel I would grow professionally here. I guess, I have to stop from here. My next student's waiting outside already.

Till next time Blogspot,

pRaNs B.

Will post photos soon. : ]
